Sunday Church Services
We meet for two morning services every Sunday morning at the Bentley Baptist church building and also have a pre-recorded online service for those who can't make it on the day.Our two services start promptly at 9.30am and 11.30am and each last for around an hour and 15 minutes.
Fancy a tea or coffee before church?
We encourage everyone to arrive a few minutes early for the 9.30 service to grab a drink on the way in, say hello to friends (old and new!) and find a seat.
Tea and coffee are also served between the services from 10.45 - 11.30. This is a great time for folks from both our services to catch up.
We ask that if you regularly have tea or coffee before the service, that you bring your own re-useable cup to minimize the number of disposable cups we have to use.
Where do I sit?
Most of the chairs are in rows (and nobody owns a seat), so sit where you feel most comfortable.
We also have some seats right at the back, accessibility and space for those with mobility challenges and a play area in church for parents with young children.
What about groups for Children and Youth?
Our groups for children and Youth are part of our 11.30 service.
To make sure we provide the best possible care for your children, we ask all parents to sign in their kids with our team before the service starts at the 'Kids sign-in point' which is easily spotted next to the big banner!
Part-way through the service, we split into groups where everyone can learn in a way that suits them. While adults remain the main worship area, ages 0-16 head to their own groups for games, snacks and Bible teaching. There is also an unmanned creche room (Little Miracles) where parents can take small kids and still connect with the service through a live video link.
All of our staff and volunteers working with children/youth are DBS checked and receive safeguarding training.
In our 9.30 service we have a play area in the church for infants and our unmanned creche (Little Miracles) is open, with a video-link to the service.
What's with all the singing?
We have a band that leads us in singing songs in a contemporary style (though we also throw in a classic hymn from time to time!). The purpose of these songs is to Praise and worship God.
Praise = telling God how great we think He is
Worship = telling God we want Him to rule and guide our lives
What about prayer?
If you would like prayer or to pray, we have a prayer space at the back of the room which you can use at any time to pray or be prayed for if you wish. We also offer opportunities to be prayed for in different services for challenges folks might be facing.
Is there an online service if I can't be there in-person?
Yes! Each week we pre-record the exact same talk as the in-person services and this premiers on Sundays at 9.30am with some worship songs and prayer. Even if you're unable to come along in person (or want to check us out online first), there's still a way for you to connect. The pre-recorded service and loads of other content is also available to watch later via our YouTube channel or through links on Facebook and our church website.
Some people find it helpful to get a feel for the culture of the church by watching an online service (or two) before they join us in person.
